The 10 Most Promising Altcoins For 2021

For this subscriber-exclusive post, I thought I’d share my top 10 most promising altcoins for 2021, all of which I have ensured are under a ~$25mn market cap, thus providing high speculative prospects moving forward. These are all projects that I believe have sound fundamentals for the next ~12 months, but, more importantly, are either at or are coming into attractive areas for entries.

It has been a fruitful few months for some of these altcoins, and I have spent the best part of the past six weeks re-weighting my portfolio out of projects that have run hard and into those that are coming back into support. As I mention often, scaling out profits and cycling into other, more attractive prospects is the gameAlthough many of the projects listed are those that I have been a fan of for some time now, I never marry a position, and so as much as I’d have liked to have held onto some as they reached dizzying heights this past summer, I knew that I would have another opportunity to re-enter at more attractive prices.

Below, I have listed the 10 projects that I am expecting the most of over the coming 12 months, and I have provided areas in which I am looking to either enter a new position or compound my existing positions. I have also provided expected prices by this time next year, although naturally this is just for fun, as it is impossible to predict precisely when and to where these projects will run.

Nonetheless, I hope this will be of some value. Feel free to leave any comments or questions below, as usual.

Price: $0.039 (334 satoshis)

Market Cap: $22.49mn

Areas of Interest: As close to the 360dMA as possible, although I have only sold ~10% of the position originally bought within the original accumulation area. Will be looking to compound my existing position below 250 satoshis.

Expectations for 2021: New all-time highs above 1,300 satoshis. Looking for the peak market cap to hit over $100mn.

2. Constellation

Price: $0.01 (101 satoshis)

Market Cap: $13.922mn

Areas of Interest: Buying incrementally below 100 satoshis, with a view to add significantly at or below 70 satoshis.

Expectations for 2021: Again, new all-time highs above 600 satoshis. This one hasn’t even run this past year, with the first wave of its cycle occurring in late 2019. Given the working partnerships secured throughout this year, I’d expect a peak of $75mn or higher in 2021 for its market cap.

3. NKN

Price: $0.018 (175 satoshis)

Market Cap: $11.11mn

Areas of Interest: Here. This accumulation range has been in play for the best part of this year and NKN has never experienced a bull cycle, despite having one of the most decentralised large-scale networks in the world.

Expectations for 2021: 1,300 satoshis to be retested, at the very least. Plenty of upside here, in my opinion.

4. WeOwn

Price: $0.014 (125 satoshis)

Market Cap: $1.487mn

Areas of Interest: Again, right here. This is a 10-month accumulation range with price currently sitting at range lows. Plenty of volume in the range. I have been cycling small percentages of profits from other coins into Own whilst it remains in this range.

Expectations for 2021: I would be surprised if we didn’t see 1,800 satoshis retested given the duration of this accumulation range and the tiny market cap. I’d be looking for a $15-20mn market cap at the very least in 2021.

5. V-ID Datalink

Price: $0.39 (3.704 satoshis)

Market Cap: $21.25mn

Areas of Interest: This is one of my favourite projects in the space given its incredibly attractive tokenomics, but I sold heavily above 7,000 satoshis and I am not yet interested in rebuying. I would like to see price play out the rest of its bear cycle and move back towards the 360dMA below 2750 satoshis before I re-enter what I have sold.

Expectations for 2021: I’m looking for that all-time high at 10,400 satoshis to get taken out in 2021, hence wanting to rebuy the VIDT I have already sold. Patience.

6. Ferrum Network

Price: $0.046 (426 satoshis)

Market Cap: $6.315mn

Areas of Interest: This is a difficult one, as I only own a small amount of FRM, as I was late to the party and bought in June, well after the accumulation range. That said, price has now come into an important area of prior resistance turned support, and there’s every chance we base here and continue higher. As such, I have added to my position here, although I will cut the entire position if we close below trendline support on the daily. The ideal area for me is below the 200dMA, back towards the range resistance from January at 180 satoshis. I would enter a significant position if we come back down into that area and form a base later this year.

Expectations for 2021: I was very impressed with Ferrum Network during my research, and I think it has a bright future in 2021. I’d be looking for new highs above 900 satoshis as a minimum target, although I do think this can run for a $50mn market cap or higher next year, assuming fruitful market conditions.

7. Decentr

Price: $0.07 (724 satoshis)

Market Cap: $4.75mn

Areas of Interest: I am currently involved in a small position from ~1,000 satoshis, but I am bullish on DEC for the next 6-12 months and so I am looking to add heavily if we move into that 630-satoshi area or lower. Either that, or if we start to push higher before that, I’d look to add when market structure turns bullish again (a higher-high after a higher-low).

Expectations for 2021: Given that there is no expected emission over the next 4 months, I’d expect to see DEC move higher during that period to capitalise on the lack of inflation. That said, I am expecting it to hit $1 in 2021 assuming its fundamentals carry on pushing forward.

8. Verasity

Price: $0.0009 (8 satoshis)

Market Cap: $3.47mn

Areas of Interest: Here, with a very clear invalidation at the all-time low ~3 satoshis. VRA has never experienced a proper bull cycle and has been trading below 20 satoshis for the bulk of its existence.

Expectations for 2021: I am looking for a new all-time high above 26 satoshis in 2021; as aforementioned, Verasity has never experienced a bull cycle, so I’d expect fireworks when it does properly move. A peak market cap above $25mn would not be out of the question, given that it is under $4mn at present.

9. BetProtocol

Price: $0.001 (9 satoshis)

Market Cap: $1.866mn

Areas of Interest: Again, very similarly to Verasity, I am buying right here at 9 satoshis with a manual exit if price closes the daily below 7 satoshis at a new all-time low, as this 7-9 satoshi area has held for the bulk of its existence.

Expectations for 2021: If we look at the entire year’s trading, it has occurred between 8 satoshis and 19 satoshis on the whole, and I’d expect price significantly higher than the current all-time high of 24 satoshis in 2021.

10. Akropolis

Price: $0.011 (105 satoshis)

Market Cap: $21.15mn

Areas of Interest: Whilst price has now come off its recent highs and into the 200dMA, I am not yet looking to buy, as I would like to see capitulation and depression play out before I enter here. That, for me, would come with a move into the 360dMA, ideally retesting range resistance as support above 41 satoshis. I am very interested in being a buyer of Akropolis, but not unless we fall off another ~40-50% from here over the coming weeks.

Expectations for 2021: A new all-time high above 510 satoshis. Akropolis is positioned to be a major player in DeFi in 2021.

How do you feel about Bepro at the moment Nik?

    1. Nik

I’ll include it in next week’s Market Outlook but I don’t have a position in it anymore!

  2. Raphael Kim

Hi Nik, thanks for the post. Are you still long on NKN?

  3. harry wrey

WeOwn just flash-crashed 80% on BitMax (BTC pair) and crashed 48% vs USDT, price still down.

    1. Nik

Capitulation – the books are so thin that I’m not surprised. It’s back at 83 sats from what I can see.

    2. Nik

It’s also not the sort of coin I buy to worry about – it’s a moonshot for me. Either it dies or it pulls a 100x, no in between. More exchanges would help.

      1. harry wrey

Should I still follow your handbook Fib rules about selling?

        1. Nik

Do you mean for bull cycles? Yes. Fibs provide key areas for scaling out of a position, along with monitoring the rich-list and obviously historical resistance levels.

          1. harry wrey

Yes, if it goes to 100X. Ok, I’ll try not to panic and stick to the plan if it happens!

            1. Nik

To be clear, the 100x is slight exaggeration haha – I’d be happy with a 20-30x on WeOwn from these prices. It could absolutely go much higher in a mega-bull market but there comes a point where opportunity costs become high (30x to 100x is only a 3.3x return, whereas taking those profits and reinvesting in something that could still go 10x makes much more sense).

              1. harry wrey

Thanks, I hadn’t thought of it like that. I won’t be greedy. Pretty excited for next year… most of my friends still don’t understand crypto.

  4. harry wrey

Decentr crashed straight through the old support, heading straight down.

    1. Nik

Yeah I sold on the close below prior ATL; looking to rebuy when we claim that level back. Most large holders are not selling based on the rich-list, but I’m not willing to buy back just yet.

Nik, you shouldn’t leave this kind of key information / updates out of the post itself above. All you wrote was “looking to add heavily if we move into that 630-satoshi area or lower”, would have been nice to see this invalidation level or update there.

        1. Nik

I mean, the invalidation level is quite clearly the all-time low in the chart, but I will make sure I add a note in next time. I am looking to re-buy if we form a range here; if we v-reversal back above the prior ATL, however, I’ll just look for an entry there.

          1. Csaba Illés

Thanks, Nik. You’re right, probably rookie mistake, but that’s why I follow you 🙂

What about KMD , ARK , STRAT?
    New report on Ieos?

    1. Nik

They’re all much larger projects – these were all under $25mn, which was the focus of the post. I am very bullish on KMD and STRAT in particular for 2021.

Do you mean EOS? I haven’t ever done a report on EOS.

  6. harry wrey

This is pretty epic. I have moons in my eyes

  7. Brian Ward

Thank you Nik! Where are you buying WeOwn? I can’t find it anywhere. Thank you.

    1. Nik

It’s on BitMax at the moment but it is quite a pain to accumulate
